KNKE magnetic pump is a type of pump that uses a magnetic coupling to transfer rotational energy from a motor to the impeller of the pump, without any direct physical contact between the two. This eliminates the need for a traditional shaft seal, which can be a source of leakage and maintenance issues in conventional pumps.
The magnetic coupling consists of two sets of permanent magnets, one on the motor side and the other on the pump side, with a small air gap between them. When the motor rotates, the magnetic field induces a corresponding rotation in the magnets on the pump side, causing the impeller to spin and move the fluid.
The absence of a shaft seal in magnetic pumps makes them particularly suitable for handling corrosive, hazardous, or high-purity fluids that cannot tolerate any contamination or leakage. They are also suitable for applications where a hermetic seal is required, such as in chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage industries.
